This surprises me.

It doesn't work mathematically. If you've got 2 permanent opponents, that leaves you 13 to rotate, so we are left with the unbalanced rotation. If you have five permanent opponents, that would leave ten to rotate, so you'd play 5 and 5.

Mathematically it does seem odd. But I suppose they didn’t want to go to as many as five permanents.

As an LSU fan I hate the idea of giving up annual series with MSU, Arky and Ole Miss. Those are great road trips. Hopefully our permanents will be two of those.

This. Keeps meaningful series intact and allows you to mix Texas in with some of the programs that actually give a shite about baseball.
