The question will be, in regards to the dead player, is UGA responsible for a drunk employee of the University operating a university vehicle crashing and resulting in the death of the player.

I think just in general, I am going to assume that all signs point to yes, and that the family probably settles a lawsuit for a considerable sum of money without much resistance from the university.

As to whether or not sporting sanctions occur from the NCAA or SEC, well that much remains to be seen.

NCAA has no jurisdiction as impermissible benefits toward current athletes weren’t involved. At worst they could go after the surviving staffer from the wrecked car but even they aren’t that tone deaf.

SEC could do something in theory if they felt so inclined but they tend to not involve themselves in off the field matters at member institutions; what would be the point?

It will be paid for by an insurance company and in turn will trickle down to the consumer.
