I went and looked at the replies to the girl's article and very few people agreed with her. My question is, how would some girl in College Station or Austin know anything about the UTA/A&M rivalry? She would have been in elementary school the last time they played each other. The author of the article has no idea what she's talking about.

Some man posted a long reply that listed some of the reasons Aggies think UTA folks are asshats outside of football rivalry. Off the top of my head were things like: UTA played politics around A&M opening a law school which held up the opening for decades, UTA tried to have the state legislature close down A&M in the 1900s,so they could get more funding for themselves, even though A&M was founded first.

Did you actually read the article? She talks about that. They don't play us, yet create merchandise solely around us, can't even call us by our name, do our hand sign more than their own, and sing songs entirely about us (and all of this when they're not playing us).

It's literally her point. And the fact that all of the comments were from rage-filled cultists that couldn't specifically discredit what she was saying and instead asked her to transfer are literally proving her point.

You do realize Texas a&m was originally created to be a branch of the University of Texas at Austin, right?

That's according to their own history. They were never meant to be the flagship, and the past 100+ years has done nothing but prove exactly that

Their mascot is named after A&M’s yearbook
