We were all deprived of an exciting ending to a pretty exciting Super Bowl because a ref interjected himself into a play where he didn't need to and shouldn't have.

There was an article on the Rant recently about refs having post-game press conferences..... which I think is brilliant. In cases like this either the moment is to big for the ref; or he wants to interject and make the call. Both are bad. Make the default be "it's much easier defending a missed call than a bad call". The default, especially in situations like this, should be to swallow your whistle. Don't call something that hasn't been called all game. My $.02
