I pretty much concur with this list and the reasons given for each.

There will be much discussion/debate here about the #2 & #3 programs, for sure. The reasoning given in the article is understandable. I get it.

I think the list is from 2011 or 2012 (not sure); but, I still think it's accurate even today.

#1...........Southern California

#2...........Texas

#3...........LSU

#4...........Arizona State

#5...........Stanford

LSU # 2 buddy nice try Lol
Just flip 2 and 3 around and I’ll say I agree with that. Modern Texas baseball has been weak as well

SEC schools to have made the CWS more recently than USCw:

Arkansas
Auburn
LSU*
Mississippi St.*
Ole Miss*
Texas A&M
Florida*
Georgia
South Carolina*
Tennessee
Vanderbilt*

Oklahoma
Texas*

* = won CWS

USCw baseball is dead. Only one trip to a regional since 2006.

I've tried so hard over the years to become emotionally invested in College Baseball & College Basketball. I want to care. I just can't make myself care. I am jealous of those that do. I think it would have taken the sting out of our 13 year ride on the college football crazy train.

USC going dormant is bizarre. I thought for sure when Tom House joined their staff & located his NPA pitching HQ on site they would return to dominance. Nope.

They have everything it seems to be a powerhouse.

Kind of surprised Cal State Fullerton wasn't in the top 5.

1 in 1998, before that you have to go to the 1940's to 1970's

#2...........Texas

1 in 2005 and 1 in 2000, before that you have to go to the 1940's to 1970's

#3...........LSU

6 CWS since 1990, none before then

#4...........Arizona State

1 in 1981, other 4 are in about a decade from mid 60's to mid 70's

#5...........Stanford

2 in the 1980's

In terms of modern times ...

4 for Miami (1982 - 2001)
4 for Arizona (1976 - 2012)
3 for Oregon State (2006 - 2018)
2 for South Carolina (2010 and 2011)
2 for Vanderbilt (2014 and 2019)

If you look at trends, the PCC / PAC was the conference before ESPN and the SEC is the conference of today.

Coastal, Rice, Pepperdine, and Vandy have won more recent natties than USC.
And USC was coached for decades by Cajun Ron Dedeaux :)

Miami and Arizona both better. If FSU had any luck in Omaha, they would be in the conversation for Top 5. As is, they are a Top 10 program
