Auburn Is Cleared in Investigation Into Newton
quote:
Saying it had found no violations, the N.C.A.A. announced the end of its 13-month investigation into Auburn’s football program Wednesday, including the recruitment of the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Cam Newton.
quote:
The N.C.A.A. said it conducted 50 interviews in the Newton investigation, which centered on a pay-for-play scheme. The N.C.A.A. acknowledged last fall that Newton’s father, Cecil Newton, shopped his son to Mississippi State for nearly $200,000. But the N.C.A.A., after going through bank records, I.R.S. statements, and phone and e-mail records, could find no proof that Auburn paid for Cam Newton’s services.
quote:
“We appreciate the N.C.A.A., and thank them for their professionalism and thoroughness during this exhaustive investigation,” Auburn Athletic Director Jay Jacobs said. “We are pleased to put this matter behind us.”

Lol
There was a violation.
Cam newton's dad shopped him for $200k.
That makes cam Newton an ineligible athlete.
And he was suspended.
The joke is that he was suspended for 1 day. 1 day.
Congrats on being gifted an ineligible athlete by the ncaa. Most ineligible players miss 4 to 8 games. 4 games would have taken him out of the SECCG and NCG.
Auburn had the opportunity to suspend him earlier in an attempt to not ruin the entire season. When a team plays an ineligible player, the NCAA typically forfeits those wins.
Talk about asterisks of all asterisks. The ncaa basically let Auburn cheat (play an ineligible player) and win.

Nobody believes that horse shite. I'd have more respect for Auburn fans if you'd just admit what everyone already knows about Cam.
