That’s correct, I posted that a few days ago.

I saw that earlier on here, but who reported it? Was it just another poster on an internet site that has sources? Supposedly TN is waiting to hear back from the ncaa.
An earlier post said TN sent in their replay to the failure to monitor charges by the ncaa in Nov and are waiting on the reply which is due in 60 days. I guess its possible that Saban or our AD has discussed Pruitts potential penalties with the ncaa but have been told to keep a lid on it until they release their findings. Also, I dont think Saban will have a PC about the new coaches until BOB gets a job. If he doesnt get one, I think its a good chance he will be our OC next year.

On a different subject, surely the ncaa wont let SLUT go scott free. They fired Pruitt and got out of an 8 million dollar contract, and quietly pushed fat phil out of town so that he couldnt talk. Did they pay his contract? Probably.
The ncaa should at least penalize TN for the amount of the contract which they owed to Pruitt. Thats like having your cake and eating it too.

Danny White the TN AD said on Wed that they have not heard back from the NCAA. They responded on to the ncaa on Nov 24th. So that makes Monday the end of the 60 days for the ncaa to respond. White said in that interview that no date has been set for the ncaa to respond back to UT. Not sure why he said that. (this was just reported on wjox). So, hopefully today or Monday we hear all the ncaa penalties in the UT scandal.

Also the boys on wjox said sources in New England say BOB is the leader in the club house to take the DC job for the Pats. I think they said they have one more person to interview.

Bama’s compliance office clearing him and the NCAA clearing him are two totally different things.

Yeah, the one compliance office that can actually prevent the hire cleared him and the one without teeth that can't do shite, hasn't

TN has spent 1.4 million defending themselves during this ncaa investigation. Someone needs to tell them. Ala compliance could have talked to the ncaa about a Pruitt show cause and found out it was 2 years--which he has already served.

Apparently they have one more interview today, which I would take as a good sign they agree with BoB soon, God willing

The Pats have a DC running their offense, now they're going to have an OC running their defense.

Belichick playing 8D chess.

Wade: Isn't the NCAA still investigating this? I don't recall seeing the NCAA issue any findings/penalties.

Gottfried: Got a one-year show-cause penalty. If Bama compliance cleared Pruitt, maybe they think they can overcome any show-cause levied against him (if/when that occurs).

They're fired either because of NCAA penalties or in anticipation of them.

It's possible to work around a show cause but it's very problematic. If Bama hires Pruitt it's because they think he's worth the risk and they may be right.

My point was that saying the NCAA can't do anything about it is simply untrue. They have the ability to make any coach unemployable for a major program. The only question is if they'll use it in this situation.

Yeah, and in Wade's case, that may come back to bite LSU on the arse. Depending on the findings from the NCAAA, a wrongful termination suit is definitely on the table.

Eh, although my original post was tongue in cheek, we'll have to agree to disagree on what power the NCAA actually has or chooses to wield these days.
