What is your prescription for 2023 football team?

I thought this would be an interesting topic. I'm sure everyone has ideas on what it will take to recapture the SEC and CFP next season. I'll share mine.
1. Better play out of the defensive interior (DTs and ILBs).
This area has been tracking downward since the start of 2018. I'm hopeful with Golding gone that inside backer play will track upward again. Still, the inside backers need difference makers on the interior line to give them the clean lanes to attack the runners. Recruiting misses have hurt us but there also seems to be a development deficit too. Perhaps there are more changes coming to the coaching staff especially w/r/t line play.
2. A bigger emphasis on varied run blocking
Alabama under Bill O'Brien has a pretty basic run game install. This negatively affected run play effectiveness during his tenure. Great running teams can beat opponents in a variety of ways both with power and finesse.
3. Run da bawl
A team cannot run the ball like great teams need to without a wide variety of blocking counters to what a defense may show the OL. Pointed that out in #2 because it is a necessary prereq for this point.
Since 2017, we have had at least 3 seasons fall short of national titles partly due to QB injuries. In 2018, Tua was relegated to a pocket passer for more than half the season due to a litany of injuries. In 2019, Tua's continued injury problems left us without a fully powered offense against our two best opponents. In 2021, Young's shoulder injury led to him missing 1.5 games and not practicing until mid November with a young WR corp.
Alabama prior to 2018 had a lot of fortune with QB health but to some degree we made our own fortune by not exposing our QBs to so many pass rush shots. We have got to start running the ball more to protect our quarterback's health.
Yes, we need to be able to throw it effectively 40+ times against elite teams but we should not have to toss it around constantly against the Arkansas and Mississippi State tier teams where we seem to be accruing these QB injuries in practicality.

Without the "make his arse quit" mentality, the play callers and play calling doesn't matter.

DL: I don’t think people realize how beat up we were all year.
If not for Oatis we would’ve been in really bad shape once Eboigbe went down and some other guys got dinged up.
Eboigbe/Oatis/Smith with Payne/Latham/Burroughs behind them should be solid especially against the run.
Scheme changes should also help since we won’t be going with two DL and inside blitzing 230lb OLB into guards and wondering why LSU is running at will in key situations.
LB: Braswell/Turner should be elite outside.
Lawson and Campbell/Blackshire/TBD should be fine inside with lots of ability to flex guys outside and into coverage with all that talent and speed to be utilized.
Secondary:
Koolaid is legit at CB, just need either Arnold or one of the TF to hold down the other side and we should be good.
So much turnover at safety, gonna have some big plays due to guys learning on the job.
Caleb Downs is gonna start at safety somewhere, haven’t seen tape like that since Minkah.
So that leaves Moore, Story, Little and Smith fighting it out for the other two spots.
There will be learning pains back there but the ceiling is incredibly high for that group.

Bring in ex-players for energy and to challenge the players manhood. We got to have people that bring people that can relate to the players. The last staff had too much age on them and no Scott Cochran's.

Get away from the zone blocking schemes
Stop the passive screening and walling off defensive players techniques. Put the OL's hands in the dirt and fire out and knock people on their asses. Hat on hat violence. We have been what we used to ridicule for far too long - soft. And it has rubbed off on our defense.

If we get better than average QB play in 2023, we'll be in the CFP. New blood in the staff will create some needed new energy. S&C needs to be addressed... just haven't been impressed the last 2-3 years.
We also need some "hateful" players... especially in the trenches.

Better tackling in both technique and intensity! Punish offenses and make them fear 3rd and long.
Create turnovers on defense.
Develop/create defensive scheme to limit running QB effectiveness.
Run the ball with intent and not as a means to keep the defense honest.
As stated, better blocking and control the LOS to better protect the QB.
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER run three straight pass plays from inside 10 yard line or line up in shotgun when we need 1 yard to get TD/1st down.
Correct the receiver route trees so the we don’t have 2-3 receivers occupying the same 6 yard area. Teach these receivers how to block like we used to from that position.
Eliminate stupid pre snap penalties!!!

Containing a running QB (see LSU/Auburn game) horrendous. With Pruitt at DC, we hit them so hard they left the game.
