Zac Selmon serves as Deputy Athletics Director / External Engagement and Advancement. As a member of the executive leadership team, Selmon provides oversight of the Stakeholder Relations objective of OU Athletics' strategic plan, which includes: Sooner Club (Athletics Advancement), Varsity "O" Association, strategic communications, media relations, digital media, SoonerVision, fan engagement, marketing, multi-media rights, licensing, brand management, and ticket sales. In addition, Selmon has sport oversight for football.

In September 2019, Selmon was appointed to the NCAA Football Rules Committee.
From 2017-2021, Selmon served as the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Advancement / Administration and had sport oversight of Men's and Women's Track and Field / Cross Country. Under Selmon's leadership, the Sooner Club set annual giving records for donations in 2018 and 2019, while activating new philanthropic annual membership levels and developing the fundraising strategy for OU Athletics' $200 million capital campaign, Champions of Magic: Our Constant Pursuit of Excellence. In 2020, the Sooner Club set a record for the highest amount of philanthropic giving in OU Athletics' history.

Selmon returned to the OU Athletics Department as Senior Associate Athletics Director/Chief of Operations in July 2015. In that role Selmon contributed to the department's overall direction and culture through responsibilities related to leading OU's strategic planning process and the implementation of specific initiatives, including the department's diversity and inclusion programming. He also assisted in the strengthening of key stakeholder relationships, led sport administrator meetings and facilitated additional projects all geared toward developing a world-class experience for Oklahoma student-athletes.

Selmon served the 2014-15 academic year as Associate Athletics Director and Special Assistant to the Athletics Director at the University of North Carolina. At UNC, his duties included monitoring and tracking the athletics department's strategic plan, representing the athletics director at meetings and on committees, assisting with internal communications, serving as liaison with external groups such as the ACC, NCAA and NACDA, and administering the department's executive and senior staff meetings.

Prior to working at North Carolina, Selmon began his career in the OU Athletics Department as a graduate assistant in 2009 before holding the titles of Assistant Director of Development, Associate Director of Development and Director of Capital Gifts.

A four-year dean's list member as a student-athlete at Wake Forest University, Selmon graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in religion and international studies in 2007. He was a four-year starter at tight end on the Demon Deacons' football team.

In 2010, Selmon graduated from OU with a master's degree in education and an emphasis in intercollegiate athletics administration.

Selmon and his sister Shannon Selmon-Carter, who played basketball at OU, co-founded the Shine Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving those in need, with an emphasis on children's projects in West Africa. They are still heavily involved with the organization.

Selmon's father, Dewey, and uncles Lee Roy and Lucious Selmon, were defensive linemen on the OU football team in the 1970s. Dewey and Lee Roy both earned consensus All-America and Academic All-America honors in 1974 and 1975. Lucious was a consensus All-American in 1973.
Selmon and his wife Rachel reside in Norman and have two daughters, Shayne and Rylee.

He’s worked under two very good athletic departments. I’m very impressed with this hire. This isn’t a baseball coach hire. This is a real deal AD.
