Maybe he's just not white? I mean, I hate wokeness as much as anybody, but I also hate racism and generalizations.

I don't know anything about the guy, so maybe he is woke and maybe he isn't. But it seems the only thing you know about him is his color and you immediately went there. That's worse than being woke.

Just because that tidbit was included doesn't mean it's a "woke" or "diversity" hire. Since I know what "woke" is code for among people like you, just put on your hood and walk away.

Dude has a great resume and was hired on merits.

I wouldn’t call this woke. You gotta realize Mississippi is the state with the highest % of blacks per capita. Many of which are very talented athletes that end up playing for State. Having a black AD at the state’s university doesn’t hurt.

I don’t like adding in that he’s the first black AD. I’d rather see it as Mississippi State’s new AD who happens to be black.
