Look, I appreciate the pageantry and history of the game and appreciate what happened years and years ago to pave the way for the game.

However, when you bring it up in to make a relevant discussion about being a powerhouse today? I’m going to check you — and I don’t think titles from 75 years ago should be thrown around to make a point about today.

I’d say from 1970s onward I hold in a more legit light because of; racial integration, implementation of weight lifting in the sport making better athletes, and the development of more sophisticated passing games and offensive and defenses in general.

Count all of them or none of them.
And the consensus methodology is the only way to look at NC’s. Who did the majority of established polls at the time recognize as the champion.

Tennessee 1938, 51, 98 are legitimate.
Tennessee 1967 is absolutely not. 1940 & 1950 are weak but at least arguable.
