So do we have any other decent candidates?

I fear anyone hood will not want to tether their career to such a young inexperienced head coach. We already had to promote LB coach to DC.

We are going to be young and inexperienced coaching wise going against some of the most seasoned and experienced coaches in college football. Saban, Freeze, Pittman with Briles, Brian Kelly, Kiffin, Jimbo now with Petrino.

This is going to be a disaster and we are going to lose a lot of players to the portal before next season. I really don’t see this ending well. I’m just giving my honest opinion. I hope I’m wrong but I’m not optimistic

Chris Hatcher is a decent candidate but I'm not really too high on that idea once Will Rogers is gone. He's a Mumme Air Raid guy. Does run the ball a lot more though.

I think promoting Brock to DC was a smart move. He can always get inputs from Arnett if he needs to. He called the plays in the bowl game.

If Arnett wanted to stay in the Air Raid lineage (and I'm not convinced he does) a name that could surface is Tony Franklin. He and Mike both worked under Mumme and then kind of split in different directions. Mike's version became the "Air Raid" while Tony's became "The System". Basics are the same but Tony changed the terminology and packaged it. Made a ton of money off of it too. He's getting older and may be thinking retirement... but who knows... Currently OC at Army but he's 65 so may not be the guy. Has done pretty well everywhere except Auburn... and Tubby really didn't give him what he needed to do well there.
