Could A&M sneak into a preseason top 25 ranking by week 1 of 2023?

I could see pundits trying to rationalize putting them in the 22-25 range

They’ll cite Weigman and the fact that they ended 2022 by convincingly beating the SEC West champions as reasons why Aggie is a dark horse playoff contender and should be ranked.

Maybe throw in a new OC and voila, #23 Texas A&M in week 1!

We will probably be higher than 23. I’d go with high teens.

I could see it happening but it’s the last thing A&M needs…

Somewhere between #5 and 7 would be appropriate.

LSU fans already have moved A&M into the top 10. We, Ag fans are waiting til at least June to start that train.

Not sure it really matters when they are unranked by conference play just like every year.

Honestly, I expect them to be ranked.

That's one benefit of the big contract, you know Jimbo has stability... and he's usually winning about 8-9 games there (no troll). Lotta good underclassmen returning and Weigman will be in place.

The question will be, how does Jimbo handle things this year?

We'll be ranked in the upper 20s but you won't see any pundits touting our name often until we have some output on the field.

We shouldn't even sniff the top 25 unless we're 4-0 after Auburn. Now, if we were to get past Bama and Tennessee, we can start talking top 15, but the odds aren't in our favor on those.

Where ever they were ranked in the top 25 it would be too high

Preseason rankings are meaningless. Of course you can throw teams like Bama, UGA OSU on the wall and most will stick. But in the end they are nothing more than a conversation about hypotheticals generated by people who talk about football for a living.

Hopefully not. Make the team earn any rankings/hype they get, dont just give it to them.
