I 100% agree with no targeting there. Led with shoulder.
TCU earlier, that was leading with the crown.

How has this rule been out for almost 10 years and people still not understand it?
You'd have a point if there was any possible way to call it without any ambiguity, but there isn't.
The problem with the rule is it is counter to every aspect of the game itself.
It's a dog shite call for a ton of reasons, but most of all because what the frick else is he supposed to do there.

Bad call. That’s a high hit to the head

It wasn’t targeting but leading with the shoulder doesn’t matter on a defenseless player. Jesus.

I’m ok with that. The targeting rule sucks anyways

So y’all got any of them voodoo miracles from Savannah you can pull?

I didn't think it was targeting, but I'm shocked they overturned the call.

Because there is ZERO consistency with how the penalty is called. Called against Arkansas when the defender actually dislodged the football with his helmet (therefore not making forceable contact with the crown of the helmet), but NOT called against TCU in what would be a textbook definition against Michigan earlier. The better question is how do the replay booths and rules officials still not understand the rule?

Technically, them and ACC are the only major conferences who don't have a dog in the fight. I think those two should have been calling both games. Kinda BS that the SEC refs could possibly influence the TCU/Michigan game, who Georgia could play the winner of.
