These outside notes remind that Mike Leach remains the most interesting personality in college football and strikes a chord with so many folk in so many places.
Maybe we at Mississippi State ought appreciate the man more, too.

There's a special place in my book for those who are willing to give the youngsters a chance. That's all it took for me to thrive and hearing Leach doing the same for another kid endears me even further to him.

This really has me anxious/sad. I keep coming back every few minutes to see if any confirmed update. Not that his health is any of my business but like everyone I like that quirky man.

To keep things positive here’s a great story from his year at OU.
In the ’99 Red River Showdown, OU offensive coordinator Mike Leach planted a decoy play script during pregame warmups. The Longhorns found it, used it and fell behind 17-0 before realizing they’d been duped. Inside how it all happened:
