While this will likely mean Alabama and some other SEC teams getting in every year, I'm not crazy about teams with 2 or 3 or more losses playing for a national championship (yes, including us this year and LSU 2007) but is happening and nobody called to get my input.

Same here, but you know as well as I do that that hypothetical would be the wet dream of some of the sports writers and fans of mediocre programs.
The talking points write themselves:
"See! We told you that a scrappy, 4-loss Baylor program could hang with the bluebloods of CFB!"
