Nothing. There weren't 4 deserving teams this year in a field of 4. Why are we to believe that there will be 12 in 2024?

I don't understand this. What determines if a team is deserving or not? Just your own personal opinion?

Fine, "There weren't 4 teams worthy of being deemed 'the best'". This same argument is had every season leading up to Selection Sunday.

tOSU was the best 1-loss team in the field that didn't win their Conference Championship, so that made them the least objectionable pick to round out the Final Four.

Hasn’t everybody’s whole argument been that Georgia is the best team by far? Was that based off everybody’s personal opinion? Yes.

Are we all just going to flip flop or will anybody try to be consistent?

The thing that makes the playoffs special is tha it is hard to get into them. When 14 out of 32 teams (NFL) make the playoffs it is no longer a special experience.
