Kiffin should have won the Egg Bowl.

Funny, seemed to me like his running game, upon which he depended all year, got stuffed for 78 yards by a more physical team, and the only reason he had a chance was because of turnovers and Will Rogers’ often poor pocket awareness.

I agree that our running game got stuffed, but if Kiffin kicks that field goal in the second half, we win the game regardless of us failing a 2-pt conversion. That game could have gone either way.

Both defenses played well in the Egg Bowl. I'd argue the offenses underperformed.

I disagree with the above poster saying the Rebs "should've" won the Egg Bowl. We had chances, but State stopped us in the redzone.

Congrats on the win. State had a good team this year, which you would expect in year 3 with Leach. It was one of his better career coaching efforts, IMO. He had a consistent running game all season and State turned in a solid defensive performance Thursday.

Turnovers and the pocket awareness might have a bit to do with the Rebels' defense, which played a good game. What baffled me in that game is why Ole Miss didn't go over the top more on State's defense. It was clear State was selling out on defense to stop the run (prudent strategy considering what Ole Miss likes to do), but we really didn't take many downfield shots. I'm not sure that Charlie Weis, Jr. has a future in Oxford. It'll be interesting to see.
