Pete Golding had his moments, and maybe even comes up with some schemes. He is awful at translating that to something that is teachable to the players. Plus he always seems one play behind the other team. It's rare he can consistently call a decent stretch of plays. Very little in the way of halftime adjustments

Pete seems to be decent when he's got a couple of weeks to plan for a specific opponent. His defenses in the playoffs have been pretty good. Still not up to our standards, but better than they were during the season.

I think the issue is the complexity. He can't take the scheme on a week-in, week-out basis and tweak it -- in an understandable way for the players -- to attack the opponent's offense with the most advantageous approach. I think HE understands what everyone should do in a given situation, but he can't translate it.
