A play late in the Auburn game summed up Pete's defense and ILB coaching perfectly to me.

It was third and long -- maybe 12-15 yards. Ashford dropped back to pass, and I immediately noticed To'oto'o was spying him. Which I thought was exactly the right thing.

Ashford got pressure, and rolled to his right, then decided to cut upfield. To'oto'o was in position to make the play ... and overran it, getting caught up in the traffic to Ashford's right, closer to the boundary. Ashford cut back to his left, toward the middle of the field, and ran for the first down.

It's plays like that which created the "third and Golding" meme. Even if we have the right play call on defense, one or two people continually bust on their assignment. Saban harps on the players not doing what they're supposed to do, and he's right, in a sense ... but when players CONTINUALLY don't do what they're supposed to do, that's on coaching.

I was a Pete supporter the first couple of years, but I've seen the light. He's got to go.

I think that is more we dont have a stud player on our side.
Their QB was just way faster than our linebacker. But he wasnt the only player that couldnt tackle him. I saw a def back stand there and dive at his feet and come up with air.
Cole Cublic said number 10 wasnt a great player when he transferred. He is not a thumper. And, he is like a lot of our players. They are good players but they are not great players. Cole isnt the only one that has said that. Gmac said the same thing a few weeks ago.
