Alabama might finish 3rd in the west next year. The team next year looks worse on paper.

On paper and actually playing are two different things, but if I were an Alabama fan I would be seriously concerned.
Notable players likely gone:
Gibbs
Young
Anderson
Burton
Ricks
Branch
Milroe would have to improve drastically to scare people regarding Bamas offense. If it’s not him then you have a young QB that is highly rated, but has never taken any meaningful snaps
You could argue LSU, And Ole Miss being better next season.
I say the dynasty officially dies next season.

Nick better go get a QB in the portal because Milroe is not the answer. They will be in trouble next year if Milroe is the starting QB.

Or they could go 12-0 in the regular season.
Bama lost a ton post 2010 and still was able to win titles the next two years. It’s a different world but the talent will be there and BOB and Pete will hopefully be gone.

Devil’s advocate: sometimes losing the star power isn’t the worst thing

Bama will never have a shortage of talent under Saban. I don't expect to see BoB and Golding on staff next season.

Ricks leaving will not hurt them

I’d argue this isn’t all that true.
Tennessee lost Peyton in 1997 and won in 1998. LSU lost Jamarcus and won with Flynn in 2007. There are several examples of teams losing great players and the overall team gelling better because of their loss. This may not be the case with next year’s Alabama team but Alabama has been so dependent on Bryce these last few years I feel like the team hasn’t reached its full potential respectively.

According to Saban this was his great team because last year was a “rebuilding” year ha ha. Saban thought this was the year so next year will be down

I've never seen a Bama team underachieve this bad since 2019 when everyone on our all world offense along with the defense returned and we still wet the bed. Bama should be ranked #25 when the 2023 season starts these guys are too soft to deserve a top 5 ranking.

2023 Alabama will have the biggest question marks of any Bama team in a while. But no rational person will be surprised if they win the NC. The difference from past years is that no one will be that surprised if they go 8-4 either.

Bama’s roster will look a lot different, no telling. They do have all of their tough games (Ole Miss, LSU, Texas, UT) at home.
