So much of this is the product of the route combinations being shite. That diving attempt by Brooks that he didn't bring in was a good example. The throw wasn't great, but if it had been it's probably either an INT or a hospital ball because Brooks ran his route into the same area as another receiver. He had separation, but it didn't matter because he was effectively double covered.

This is where talent comes into play. The only reliable and dynamic skill guy we have is Gibbs. Brooks and Holden probably run 4.65s with the wind behind them, Jojo is a JAG, Latu is awful, and Leary seems to be a bust. Prentice and Bond show some promise, but they're just freshmen and don't know what they're doing. I think getting the ball to Bond out on the perimeter needs to be a priority, but I have zero hope of seeing it happen with BooB in charge.

To further your point, look at the Bryce scramble and TD pass to Brooks. How do you have 2 receivers that close together when your QB is under pressure and scrambling for his life.
