I was dog cussing BOB from Tiger Stadium to the point that I had LSU fans cracking up in the stands this weekend.

That said, let’s not pretend 2022 Bama is 2020 Bama offensively.

The OL was non-functional last year and while solid this year is nothing special.

The QB is incredible, no room to make excuses there.

RB group is a disappointment. Gibbs is electric but not great at picking up the blitz or going between the tackles. Jase and Williams are just guys unless they recover more explosiveness from their injuries.

WR group is a mess. No one who wasn’t a freshman was getting separation and still with the drops. Comparing them to Smith and Waddle is like comparing Margot Robbie to Bette Midler.

My point is BOB needs to go, but our offensive decline isn’t just about coaching. I don’t think anyone but Bryce and Gibbs would start for 2020 Bama and Gibbs wouldn’t be a feature back he would be a complement guy to Najee.

Yeah the main difference between 2022 and 2020 is offensive coaching.

We had our offensive line decimated by an idiot (Doug Marrone) who not only didn't develop our talent for a calender year... he hurt them and made some go backwards. It takes time to sort that shite out.

We have one of the best RB talents we ever had in Gibbs but it's wasted because we don't know how to use him. As I said in another thread we have never used him in Wildcat.

We have less WR talent but again you don't need 1st rounders in every position to have sustained offensive success.

What you need is a offensive coordinator who is NOT an idiot and who can actually create different ways to get the ball to key players.

People say this. It's not true. We're as talented as ever. We don't have four 1st round WR's, but, other than that historic group, we're more talented top to botttom at WR than we've been under Saban.

Do we have areas that are weaker than others? Sure. Are any of them real weaknesses? No. The coaching/play designs are bad. We could have Smitty, Ruggs, Waddle and Jeudy out there, and it would look BETTER, but it wouldn't be anything like when they were in KIffin's or Sark's offense.

Bryce wouldn't start either but we don't need 2020 Bama to win our division or a NC. There isnt a team in the country that could keep it within 14 points. We need at best, 2017 Bama.
