First off he implores the fans to show up and we do that..sc fans are eager to do their part.

Then he says that fans should "find some joy and that the players are working hard".

This guy's skin is too thin. nobody that I know has ever been critical of individual players work ethic on a consistent basis.

If I was allowed to respond to that statement I would have told him "the fans have no problems with effort put forth by players . but the game plan that you and your staff put forth on a consistent basis robs us of joy".

its still better than how some former coaches have spoke to our fans through press conferences.

I agree its his first speaking mishap, but I think he will be fine overall. I wouldnt be shocked to see him apologize for it.

I don't understand this Shane Beamer shift from "we love the fans" to " we love the fans that support us blindly" . It honestly could be his downfall should these next 3 games go poorly but...

Ben portnoy tweeted
" womens soccer coach Shelley Smith visiting with Shane Beamer and Todd Ellis.

Talking about building a team over time and winning the SEC tourney last weekend.

Ellis: "It takes a long time to build a successful program"

Beamer: "Say that louder for the people in the back"

"

I know its not much, but still...Its enough to get a reaction from media, and a reaction from fans. Dangerous game he is playing imo

He spent a significant part of his presser today walking back that comment.
