Cadillac will be interim coach.

AUBURN, Alabama — Running backs coach Cadillac Williams has been appointed Auburn's interim head coach for the final four games of the season, a staff member informed Auburn Undercover at the program's facility Monday afternoon following a team meeting.
Auburn fired Bryan Harsin on Monday afternoon less than two seasons — 21 games, to be exact, into his tenure with the program. The Tigers have lost seven of their past eight SEC games and nine of their last 10 against Power Five competition.
Williams, the No. 2 leading rusher in program history behind Bo Jackson, was the No. 5 overall draft pick in 2005. He's been Auburn's running backs coach since the 2019 season.
In its announcement just before noon CST, Auburn did not name an interim coach. It also did not use Harsin's name in the release.

Not good for Cadillac. Normally a new coach will get rid of the interim because of competition, etc. IF Auburn hires Cadillac as HC, then good. If they hire someone else, Cadillac will probably be gone, too.

Carnell has been on the last 2 coaching staffs. I would imagine he'd have a good opportunity to land on the next staff if he was interested.

I was a college student when he was playing. Times sure does fly. Wtf. Can't believe he is going to be Auburn's head coach even if it's just emergency short term.

Hell maybe he’ll get a shot. He’ll now have the chance to prove it as the interim and he’s a popular choice.
