Simple question, stay on topic.

Simple answer ... not being a smart arse.

They have better things to do. A nutty amount of restaurants and bars, for one thing, from what I've researched.

Oxford is right up there with Chattanooga, from what I can tell, for towns not so big to be Urban, but with a Hell of a lot of shite to do.

Ole Miss is a thing to go see, for them. Not the only thing to see.

It's a combination of the grove and a history of being bad a football. I had a relative who went to OM... she said that football games are a time for everyone to get together and drink but they don't really care about the outcome of the game.

The square downtown is nice but it's not a city that I'd say has a "hell of a lot of shite to do" other than drink, which you can do in pretty much any college town.

Oxford is still a long way from a town that is "not so big to be Urban"....

But it is slowly losing it's quaint tiny "burgh" feel that it had when I went there decades ago. Fortunately, the heart of Oxford and the University have been able to maintain that feel to a great degree but it's slowly slipping away.
