I was born in 83, became an FSU fan when I was 8, but grew up 50 miles from Athens so I knew who Vince Dooley was by the time I was 30 minutes old. Seeing Bobby Bowden and Vince Dooley go within a year of each other sucks arse

His NC team and the year after were great teams. He was a very good Christian man who raised up a great family as well. RIP to Vince Dolley, comfort for his family and condolences to the Bulldog Nation.

DGD and a true legend. Fair winds and following seas, coach.
I took this at the last home game of the season last year. I didn’t have time to get in line due to have my young kids and others with me. Still kick myself.

the tie he was wearing in the pics I posted became a "must have" - just like coaches polos; I remember my dad buying one
that's a great pic of him and a testament to how much he loved life and UGA to be signing books as recently as that...
one of my favorite old school pics:
eta - the VJD initial sweater - you'll never see a modern coach on the sidelines with that
