Tennessee fans – "This was never a big deal. A football player launching a drunk college kids down a flight of steps, 30 feet away from the front door of his apartment, and sending the kid to the hospital is a non-story."

ALSO Tennessee fans – "Jermaine Burton should still be in jail."

The filed motions note that McCollough feared for his well being and was under the impression that Spencer broke into the apartment. McCollough and his roommate Warren Burrell (also a Tennessee defensive back) asked Spencer to leave the apartment numerous times. After Spencer backed up just outside the door, it’s alleged that Spencer tried to re-enter the apartment, which is when McCollough punched him one time. According to the motion, Spencer told police he’d been drinking that day and was holding a bottle of vodka while giving police his statement.

Straight from the link. Try reading it before spewing bullshite you know nothing about. To me seems like a classic case of self defense and the “castle doctrine”.

Law/Facts- Tennessee Code Annotated section 39-11-614 states that you are justified in threatening or using force against another to the degree necessary to prevent or terminate unlawful interference with the property.
