Young is simply the best player in football. UT beat the hell out of LSU while Young and Bama had an opportunity to beat UT.

LSU has improved but I’m afraid too many LSU fans are setting themselves up for disappointment. Young will do what You g does in the end. Elude the rush, make the correct reads and throws and make sure Bama wins.

Can we make Daniels the one-read and run QB or will he continue to settle in as a thrower? That could be the difference in a comfortable win and a coin toss

i think that has had less to do with the way defenses have played him and more that he was told, either start releasing the ball and trusting the receivers or we have to go a different way.

in other words, i dont think you can. now not sayign you cant shut him down, but i think he will throw come hell or high water.

Alabama’s D is much better than Florida or Ole Miss and having Young and co on the other side you need 45 to have a chance.

You never know but I would be very pleasantly surprised if LSU can pull this off.

In the past, Nick was able to circle the wagons for two weeks and get his team to respond. They were laser focused when they arrived in BR. In my opinion, it depends on whether he can get this team to respond in a similar way. They self inflict a lot of their wounds , unlike past Alabama teams. Frankly, if he can’t get his team to respond and loses in Death Valley, I don’t think he is coaching next year. Nick wants his teams to respond to him and if he feels like he can’t solicit the response any longer, he will hang it up. From a technical standpoint point, LSU has to contain Giles and take advantage of mistakes. They can’t spot Alabama 17 and expect to come from behind. I honestly think this team is built for night games. They sleep walk a bit during the day games until they are bloodies. If it’s close or LSU is winning at the conclusion of the third quarter, the Tigers will put Nick down for good.

Every team we have played has gone up early and we made adjustments. For me it will be harder to come back on this Alabama team if we go down big. I hope they start Perkins early and he is a disrupter. But, realistically I believe that it will be a close game but Bama wins.

This has the making to be a great game.
LSU has improved from week to week. JD has settled into the offense and the O line is a lot better. The D has also improved. This LSU team has nor quit in them.

But, watching Bama this last week, it looks like they have stopped the penalties, and their defense looked pretty solid.
I think its going to be a lot closer

LSU has been playing well, but still has major deficiencies: they’ve trailed in the first quarter in every game against Power 5 opponents. Special teams are the worst in the conference and one of the worst in the country.

On the positive side, Matt House looks very Aranda-like when it comes to in-game adjustments. Jayden Daniels is comfortable throwing the ball down the field and has been deadly with his legs.

LSU has a punchers chance - they are outmatched and are unlikely to win. They can pull it off if they land some big plays and force Alabama to settle for field goals.

That part. I've noticed LSU has consistently had fresher legs in the 4th quarter compared to their opponents thus far. However, LSU has also consistently given up double-digit leads in the 1st half. We cannot afford to do that against Bama. If I'm being RaTi0nAL, then my deductive reasoning suggests that Bama wins by 10. Unless LSU continues on the trajectory its been on the last two games, AND starts as strong as its been finishing. Then LSU by 10.

lsu could have kept the UT game close if they played not to lose.

but what you described with young is exactly why i think bama wins.

LSU secondary has a tendency to peak into the backfield when the QB scrambles and Young is the best in football at keeping his eyes downfield when eluding the rush.

gonna be fun though. I have no expectations to win thats for sure.

i think we end up 9-3 which is a huge step in right direction. if we had played florida state the 2nd game and played Southern first, we would prolly end the season 10-2 which would have been amazing.

I don't expect that.

I never pick against LSU at home out of principle, but realistically, we just don't have the horses to win.

I think Bama will have a comfortable, but not blow out, win.

LSU is doing real good things on both sides of the ball. Daniels is getting more comfortable and making better, quicker decisions. His accuracy is still an issue though. He tends to throw behind receivers on short passes and under throw long balls. Our OL is really starting to gel, even with the constant rotation along the line. Bama's DL will be a great test to see how far they have come. I don't expect the OL to ace that test, but I think they will get a passing grade.

If our defense could figure out how to show up in the 1st quarter they would be really good. We can't keep getting into big holes like that. The secondary will hopefully get a boost with Major Burns coming back next week. We also need to figure out how to keep Harold Perkins on the field at all times. The dude is just a difference maker and I expect him to continue that this game.

It is hard to tell with this LSU team how it will play out. If they start slow then it could never really be in doubt. If LSU somehow decides to play all 4 quarters, it could be a back and forth thriller.

I lean towards seeing how the 2 teams performed against TN, a common opponent. Using that, and making a wild guess that LSU comes out playing good ball to start the game, I say Bama comes away with a 10-13 pt victory.

LSU is not going to beat Alabama. Sorry but get real. LSU seems to be improving though and I would be disaspointed if the LSU vs Bama is not a great game. I am still not sold on Brian Kelly as a coach but its his first year so you have to give him a chance.

seriously wtf do you need to see to make you become sold

he has won everywhere he has been, everywhere

turned GVSU into a power
turned Cincy around and made them a power
Turned ND around and made them a power

so he didnt win in the playoffs or beat SEC teams in the biggest bowls....so what, 99% of coaches couldnt do that with ND

is the fact ND is losing its arse off this year not enough to prove how good Kelly was? they ahve almost same staff as last year when he had them competing for a playoff spot. wtf more do you need to see?

that would be like people saying Kirby wasnt a good coach before the NC last year because he hadnt won an NC. its a dumbass take, just like yours.

Our OL is playing significantly better. Getting Campbell and Goodwin back helps. Daniels has been great the last 2 games, but I am concerned he will get the yips playing in a "big game". If he builds on the last 2 weeks the offense should be OK.

Defensively LSU needs the DBs to tackle well and avoid blown coverages which continues to be an issue. That being said, I think containing Gibbs is as big of if not more of a priority than Young. Bama's offense flows through Gibbs as a runner and receiver from what I've seen.

We have started slow every SEC game and adjusted well (minus Tenn game) and finished strong. We can't do that vs Bama and expect to win. If we start strong or at least keep it close early I like LSU's chances. If not it likely gets away from us and turns into a route.

I dont know what it takes to sell you on a coach but BK's first year > Kirby's first year and look what hes done. I think we hit a home run on the hire and like where we are going into November. Controlling your own destiny at this point in year one is all you can ask for.
