Jumping the gun a little bit here but who do you think gets the job? I fully think beck has to be the next guy he looked darn good yesterday with what we saw leaving the question what happens to BVG and Stockton who we haven’t seen yet

You would have to think that BVG leaves, but I thought that with Beck this year

I was kinda thinking the same thing too but with Stockton I think he stays if Monken is still here I feel like he’d fit in perfect with his schemes and calls

Beck seems to be first in line to start next season, but we haven't seen BVG playing any meaningful snaps yet.

Beck in 2023 no doubt. He has improved massively over the last 2 years. Looks super confident and like he actually has a great grasp of the offense now. It’s letting his talent actually start to show through.

2024 would be up to Beck. If he stays, it’s him again. If not, ideally it would be Stockton. Hopefully he sticks around, because even if we don’t need him in 2024, we almost certainly will in 2025

I don't think we know.

Beck has improved a ton over the year.

How does he handle pressure? That could be the kryptonite for a QB who looks the part (i.e. Joe cox could make every throw in 7 on 7 as good as any UGA QB. But add a dominant pass rush and you would think he was trying to help the other team. The worst possible outcome often occurred).

Well said Beck comes in in garbage time he plays well enough to have the conversation but how well does he play when he plays someone with a pulse?

Stockton is REALLY good. If he gets a full grasp of Monken’s playbook this off-season, he could leapfrog Beck and BVG. But if there’s any question about that, it’ll be Beck.

BVG had/still has too much of a curve to overcome, I believe. Going from playing against mostly 5’6” 140# kids on the Christian highschool circuit to the SEC is just too big of a jump. We should have known better.

Stockton is going to be fun to watch. Like a fullback with a really powerful and accurate arm that can pick DB’s apart or bulldoze them into concussion protocol.

That said, Beck could be all world next year with 90% of our current receiving corpse coming back next season, too. Dude has all the tools. Even some wheels and a bit of wiggle. So who really knows?

I’ve been saying this for years and people don’t want to hear it.

It’s a lot of criticism that Arch gets too.

IMHO Beck is more accurate and throws a better ball than Stetson. That's just watching them play this year. I have noticed most of Stetson's balls are "in the vicinity" of the receiver, but very seldom can they catch them in stride. Watching Hooker and Young last week, the difference was also readily apparent. Those two were worlds better at hitting their receivers in stride. `I'M NOT SAYING STETSON SHOULDN'T BE QB 1. I AM NOT INSTIGATING A QB DEBATE. Only stating what reality appears like to me. I am excited to see Beck as QB 1 next year.

Beck hasn't played significant snaps vs. a starting defense much less one that is stout.

His situational awareness has noticeably improved. That and his arm talent would be hard to beat next season.

No QB has all the tools. And i agree with your assessment. I think his arm strength is fine, or at least adequate. He can throw the ball 45 yards in the air and has done so on several occasions. His problem (not hitting receivers in stride) comes from not throwing a receiver open when throwing deep. He does not lead them.

That said, he throws the back shoulder pretty well, and can throw into tight windows pretty well. He pulls the ball down and runs when needed and can turn a sack into a gain. He does a lot of things well.

I am encouraged by what I have seen by Beck this year. He looks capable and when he gets consistent reps I think he will develop into a good QB. It's hard to tell from what we have seen so far, though, because it has been short stints and against beaten teams late in a game.

I agree that Beck can do the job.

Beck looks elite on those over the middle throws.

His quick perimeter game is improved (incompletes last year. They look slightly better than duck farts this year. Maybe something about not getting the laces).

He had his best game against Vandy.
Hopefully, we can run it up on Florida and get him more opportunities. Being from Jacksonville, I'm sure that would mean a lot to him.

I played for two different High School teams and the second one played against the first. I can assure you, it is an otherworldly experience to pay against people you once played with and in front of a lot of fans that you knew would recognize you.

You can say what you want about that private school but they could hold their own in AAA ball.
