A scrambling QB is actually not a good match-up for State. One of their weaknesses is a lack of athleticism at LB. LSU also has a decent pass rush whereas pass protection isn't MSU's strong suit either.

I wasn't talking about their defense. Their offense should have put up 40 on that shitty LSU defense, just like Tennessee did.

I was actually at the game in 2014. Kentucky had State on the ropes that game. Josh Robinson went beast mode for the dawgs

Yep. I thought Arkansas missed some opportunities by not running Hornsby more.

Hornsby got knocked out of the game for a couple of possessions after he got his bell rung early. When he came back in, he clearly was not interested in running the ball anymore. I'm certain that this is what the coaches wanted from him at that point.

We fixed that problem. Arkansas led the nation in sacks and they didn’t get to Rogers once

That game was the first sign that State was starting to fade a little bit down the stretch in ‘14. Gave up a lot of yards and points to a 5-7 Kentucky team. The next week they had to hang on for dear life at home against Arkansas. Then they lost 3 of their last 4 after a 9-0 start.

They won't be able to stop your offense. They are built to stop running teams.
They will hold on to the ball for the vast majority of the game. That’s how they kept us from scoring more than we did

But Kentucky didn't put the game away when they could have done just that, but the team gave the game away several times.

Eh we lost on the road to Bama 25-20. Rebounded to beat Vandy 51-0. We were still in playoff contention going into egg bowl and then we started sucking getting smoked by ole Miss and the bowl game. Come to find out it was because prior to the egg bowl Geoff Collins our DC was leaving and he basically did no defensive prep for the last 2 games. frick him for that and ruining what was a fantastic season at the end. It was poetic Justice that he sucked so bad as a head coach and recently got fired

Kentucky absolutely folded last week without Levis. Hopefully with him back, the rest of the team will have some energy to play with and the hole field advantage will be enough

2016 - State had an awful defense, and played prevent with a 1 point lead and let UK get into field goal range to win as time expired.

And it was like a 51 yard FG, by far the longest their kicker had ever kicked
quote:

2018 - Joe Moorhead. Nuff said. State totally unraveled with penalties in that game and had a really stupid offensive gameplan in the rain.

Not to mention all the unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, mouth running etc, by us. This was only the fourth game of the JoMo error, and after this game I knew he was in way over his head
quote:

2020 - Kentucky won by 22 while only having like 160 yards of total offense. This was the low point of Leach Year 1 and an offense that had no idea how to deal with “rush 3 drop 8” at that point.

And like 51 of that came on a QB scramble on like a 3 and 13. Take that off and they had 106 yards of offense.

State should be favored if UK is down 2 O linemen. QB could be top pick (like Couch) but in Cleveland he found out what happens without O line to protect him.
