This is a picture perfect Egg Bowl thread. Light hearted banter about the redneckness of each school that means nothing leading to a discussion about fried food. Best rivalry in CFB: confirmed.

So Mossy Oak ran across a pallet of camo clothing from the 1990s and rather than burn it, they sent it to Moo State.

No mention of Taylor Grocery, yet.

I don’t live in Jackson/Madison anymore but my steak rankings are as follows:
Shapleys (they let you pick the size of filet and they cut in house)
Walkers
Ticos/Elys
That Gibbs place out of town is good too. More of a country style steak place
Haven’t been to koestler prime

I love that about Shapleys.

Please go buy some cause sales have tanked this month due to a sudden flood of imported fish that has filled every cold storage facility in the US
It has catfish producers extremely worried. It’s bad right now

It's that dumb motherfricker in the Whitehouse. I check my fish. If it isn't farm raised in the US, I don't buy it.

Personally prefer Mossy Oak, usually stop by their when passing thru West Point. Cool store

The biggest issue we face is restaurants buying imports and just calling it catfish dinner and people assume it’s US raised.
MS, Arkansas, Al, Louisiana all require country of origin labels but no other states require it that I know of
Funny thing is the same people (progressives) who talk about sustainability and the environment snub their nose at food like catfish when in fact we are more sustainable, grow more lbs of food in a smaller area, and have the best grain feed to lb of meat conversion and lowest environmental impact compared to poultry and beef production. We also use no growth hormones and very little antibiotics. But it’s a failure of marketing on the industry too. The TCI keeps marketing to the same southern demographics that are going to buy catfish no matter what and won’t try new techniques to reach new customers in the coastal cities
Anyways rant over

10-4. We are low in the freezer, anyway. Sounds like a good reason to fry some fish, onion rings, pickles, hush puppies, and jalapeños this weekend.

Again, we're five pages in now - and not one pic of the exact item that we're talking about here.
And I'm not trolling, I'd like to see it. Because all of the hits on a "Mossy Oak Mississippi State" search look really nice. The baseball uniforms were sharp. Seeing various hats that look good.
I think it's the school colors that make it work. That deep red / brown whatever you call it, with some white and black, is going to look good in the right camo pattern. Its a sharp combo.

At least you were nice enough to post a good pic of a nice plate. Gracias.
Up here, the fresh-water cats are tasty, in the 1-2 pound range.

Haven’t been to koestler prime
I haven't been to Shapley's since it's been in it's current location.
I had bad quality food at Ticos's one time, but all the rest have been 9/10
Been to Ely's three times and loved it
Koestler Prime is usually outstanding
Kathryn's is another place with great tamales and steak.
I've never eaten dinner at Walkers, only lunch

Mossy Oak here.
Two things you have to decide in the South at a very young age if your Daddy hasn’t for you. Favorite college football team and favorite camouflage.
