There are many.

The first is the poor quality of opponents.

The second is the high cost to get a place in Oxford for a night or weekend. Remember, it's a very small town compared to most SEC cities and quite isolated. Rooms/places have been booked for months and go at a premium. The average Mississippian is priced out.

The third has been the heat and daytime kickoffs.

The fourth is an unpopular opinion among many in our fanbase, but IDGAF. Our stadium is too big. Even when we were top ten and hosting Gameday, we pack the stadium against A&M (it's easy to see the empty seats on TV). The same is true when were undefeated and playing a ranked rival last season (Arkansas). College football attendance is never going to increase across the board again. Plus, Oxford and Ole Miss are small cities/universities to begin with. It simply doesn't make sense to have a 65,000 seat stadium we fill to about once per year, if we're lucky.

I don’t think the stadium itself is too big, we just try to cram too many people in too little a space. So I agree that we try to have too many people at the games. Space out our seating numbers, make the sitting experience more enjoyable for the average fan, and you’ll remove probably 4-5k seats. This’ll remove crowding seats and make the prices we charge feel more palatable while you’re in stadium.
