I think UGA had coverage issues and couldn't handle Williams. Certainly couldn't handle both Metchie and Williams. So yes, I think Bama wins had they not gotten injured. I think the game would then be very similar to the one in Atlanta. As for Finebaum, let him peddle his rat poison on UGA.

Were Williams and Metchie playing defense as well? Thos darn Freshmen that couldn't do their job at WR for Bama. What were they 4 and 5 stars coming out of high school?

Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and most of them stink. I think you could throw excuses in there as well.

Georgia could make the excuse of the 2017 CG of the Bama referees giving the game to Bama.

Just move on, it is another season. Bama should worry about Arkansas next week.

What's funny is Bama isn't even making the right excuses for losing the NC game.

UGA's problem in the SECCG was less about covering WR's and more about turning the ball over. UGA lost the turnover margin 0-2 in the SECCG. UGA had a pick inside the red zone and a pick 6 in the SECCG. That led to a 10-14 point swing in Bama's favor in a game Bama won by 17. UGA ended up having to try for TD's rather than running a balanced offense to come back after that due to the deficit ballooning from those mistakes.

The excuses you should be making are for your DB injuries, not the WR ones. But you don't even realize what won the SECCG for you.

The offense helped, but the defense won it. IF the defense didn't make plays/ Bennett didn't make mistakes in the SECCG, UGA would likely have been in it late with a chance to win... a close game.

that's not what happened though. Bennett did throw those turnovers which put the game out of reach.

Hard to say. NFL teams get blown out and then beat the same teams down the road. If you actually watch the game and are able to read the defense, UGA player extremely soft zone and didn’t blitz a lot the first game. A very bad game plan.

In the second game in Indianapolis, they played Bama how Auburn played Bama and brought constant pressure. Now, it’s all hypothetical bc the receivers were out. But far too many college football fans still believe in transitive property. The game isn’t played in a telephone booth. There are different outcomes in different games.
