I bet he is on Notre Dame's list. And would be on Texas's too, if Sark should fail. And then sometimes NFL teams are desperate enough to try a successful college coach, even though it rarely works out. There are many better coaching jobs than UGA, Bama is just one of them.

I didn’t want the conversation to go this way.. and Smart maybe would leave for an NFL job, hope not.
Even though Saban is easily today the GOAT of college coaches and HIS program is an envy to most. Alabama IS NOT a better job than UGA in itself without Saban.
Alabama has a real rival in a state of 5 M who’s high school football is average at best.
UGA really has no competitive rival in a State of 11M, with Elite high school football.
There is a difference in being the best college football program and the best job in college football.. they are not the same….
Btw I don’t think UGA is the best job either, I be always thought UF is the best opportunity for college football, they live a recruiting hotbed. A huge population center from central Florida to north Florida.. It really is the “State of Florida’s school”. Miami focuses more on just the city, but Florida really has a much larger pull the State. They have great resources and their Athletic department is really good at everything. They basically exist in a portion of Florida that is twice the size of Alabama with much better high school football.
Also, Think LSU is a great job close second.

Not according to Nick Saban whose said UGA is the best job in CFB.
8th largest state in country.
3-4th best in state talent
No in state competition for talent
Elite facilities
Top50 school nationally
Top 5 college town
All of those except facilities Alabama lacks. The difference in UGA and Alabama historically are two elite coaches and a 100% commitment to winning. UGA has had three good coaches historically but never a great coach and never a 100% commitment to winning. Well they are committed now and they may just have their great coach.
