Still, I think you overestimate the South Carolina program.

No, we really don't. SC fans are really rather realistic. 6-6 is the modern (20 years) floor. Historically, we're around .500. 8-4 is a realistic goal, with an occasional 10+ win season when the stars align.

We don't expect national championships, though it's difficult to explain why we shouldn't strive for more when our neighbors in the Upstate have literally the same recruiting area, and have been far more successful as of late.

The state of SC outpunches its size w/r/t football talent. Factor NC and Delmarva, and parts of Georgia (knowing you're not likely going to beat out UGa head-to-head for most of those kids) and the expectations are realistic for competitive football.

Do we expect to beat UGA/UF/Clemson every year? No. But we haven't been competitive in those games since Muschamp took over. Yes, UGa got better. Hats off.

The program took a nosedive under Muschamp, and it was directly inverse to the investment made in every facet. That's on Will.

Muschamp took over a 3-9 program.
He finished 28-30.

I don't blame you for firing him.
I just think the "anger" towards his time is a little fabricated.
