Ryan Day has only coached at Ohio State where he out-talents every team he plays in his conference by a wide margin. I guess he gets credit for keeping them going, although OSU did lose to Michigan for the first time in a decade last year and haven't looked particularly strong this year.
These guys will likely get killed here but it's hard to imagine anyone doing a much better job than Dabo at Clemson and Gundy at Okie State. Next on my list would probably be Riley, Day, and then maybe Kyle Whittingham in some fashion. It's easy to pick on Brian Kelly but he's won big everywhere he's been.
Think Lane can join this club depending on how the next couple of years at Ole Miss go. If he's able to win 10+ multiple times at Ole Miss, that'll be quite the feat.

I hope this is just simple homerism. Lol. How can you counter this level of delusion?

I cannot believe some of you have Ryan Day up there with even Lincoln Riley.

2. Dabo
3. Smart

The coach with the most wins isn’t even mentioned.

Still not sold on Riley.
His success at OU depended on 3 transfer QBs that I am not going to give him full credit for training. His first real QB he recruited and developed himself was Rattler and we know how that turned out. Once the word got out OU was coming to the SEC he jumped ship. Yes USC is a good job but I doubt if he knew they were joining the B10 he would have ended up there. My opinion so.

His best win is over fricking Dan Mullen
And he had two Heisman QBS plus one hopeful

Ryan Day is getting further away from the ground swell caused by Corch Meyers.

He's won a playoff game and recruits at an elite level.

I think a lot of people forget how thin UGA was at several key positions when Smart came in.
Towards the end of his tenure, Richt just stopped building depth on the team.

That program has had 20 years of momentum. The only hiccup they've had in that time was when Fickell had to interim before he was ready to be a HC. That kind of momentum is unmatched. He's a great offensive mind, but the defense has gotten worse every year he's been coaching and Michigan broke the glass ceiling last year. If he gets clipped before the Michigan game this year and they lose again it could get progressively uglier.

Ryan Day has that and the most stable football program in the country.

That also applies to OU.

We were down to 75 scholarship players one of Richts last years. Not because of probation or anything.

Fair point, I thought OU had more of a lull from 08-11 but I misremembered.

Now imagine being down to 39 players when you take over. If Kelly wins a NC in the next 3-4 years it should at least catapult him into the conversation of 3rd best when including his resume so far.

Pretty surprising and even disappointing to hear so many of you Georgia baws shite on Richt. Dude had one losing season in 15 years, 10 of those 15 seasons with 10 or more wins, two 11 win seasons, one 12, and one 13 win season. Maybe he couldn’t win the big one, but he also coached through peak Saban. Maybe nobody’s favorite, but dogging a coach who wins like that is begging for some bad karma.
