I don't think anyone who watched that game thought Texas played above and beyond themselves. You looked competent on offense and defense and well coached, and when you have good athletes like Texas always does, that means you are in pretty solid shape. Made some mistakes, had an injury at QB. I think the point was Alabama played a horrendously sloppy game (especially the 2nd/3rd qtrs), so much so that Texas played well but not out of their minds and almost won. And we really don't know what Texas is yet, so most people are going to focus on Alabama.

Texas may play like that the rest of the season and end up 9-3. Or, they might prove to be like past years and go 6-6. Nobody really knows.

TX may have maxed its potential on Saturday but nobody really knows, they looked well coached. Sark saying the game plan for Alabama was installed 3 months ago with a whole off season to prepare was telling. On the other side it looked like the game plan was installed last Monday and it showed.
