I honestly believe that Saban has coddled the coordinators a bit too much because he values continuity in a higher regard at this stage in his career
I think this is probably an excellent point

What’s woke about Coach Saban? Be specific. Trying to nail down that term. I will then begin an immersive self study in tinfoil hat design in an effort to relate it to coaching football.

After watching Sark’s post game press conference, we were lucky to win. It took TX being down 1.5 qb to stop them offensively. This was the most disappointing part of the game for me. I expected struggles on offense, but thought the defense would be a beast.
Sark schemed our two pass rushers out of the game. We didn’t seem to anticipate that, even though Saban said to a reporter, he knows Sark as well as Sark knows Bama. And we didn’t make any adjustments until very late in the game and until the qb became immobile.
The other big red flag was the fourth and short call. Why is a shot gun play even on the call sheet in that situation? What can be more anti- Alabama football, than running from the shot gun on fourth and six inches.
It almost feels as if Saban has taken a “ceo” position and is letting his coaches run their “departments”. I guess that’s fine if you have great dept managers.
Is this a result of hiring so many former head coaches? Saban has so much respect for them, he doesn’t want to interfere?
Whatever is going on, this loss felt different. I’m still grateful and appreciative for Saban and all the players and will be rooting for the Tide the rest of the season.
