I can't tell yet if last year was the outlier for Drink's recruiting, or if this year is. His recruiting is mainly what had me worried about him last year. I'm still undecided on him overall as a coach. He took over a built App. State, so I don't particularly use his one year there as good evidence.

You're not wrong in regards to Drink. This season will show us quite a bit about his skills when it comes to play design and coaching. I think he is a good recruiter, but this past year has been tough. Hopefully it bounces back before December.

This season is our make it our break it season with him. If he fails this year, he'll quickly find himself on the hot seat. If he is able to pull off 7 or 8 wins? He'll be given the time and breathing room needed to continue to build his program.
