Went back and looked at it and it really isn't that bad really for athletes. All these guys were listed as athletes on 247:
Trevon Diggs
Bo Scarborough
Eddie Jackson
Derrick Henry
ArDarius Stewart
Blake Sims (although he played everywhere and waited)
Kardarious Callaway, Burgess-Becker and Sanders did not stick it out.
Townsend and Story are really the 2 others outside of Sims unless I am missing someone after 2010. Both have flashed but just didn't rise to the top. Really a high hit rate.
We have NiBlack, Law, Bond and Kite for 2022 but they all have defined positions.

Yeah, that doesn't sound as bad as I remembered. I always thought we recruited Bo Scarborough and Derrick Henry as running backs from the start, though. Other folks did want Henry to play on defense, however, and that's why he chose Bama.

There are plenty of others recruited as athletes whether they were listed that way or not. Jimmy Johns and Alvin kamara. They were listed as all purpose backs which are essentially athletes, comes to mind.
