I’d still credit Freeze with the reason they are in the league

I'd love to hear your reasoning here.

That would be like saying Saban is responsible for Aaron Anderson getting drafted if that day every comes

I mean Freeze put AJ Brown and DK Metcalf in the league

Freeze’s last season in Ole Miss was 2016. That was their freshman year. Brown put up 400 yards and Metcalf had 2 catches. He shouldn’t get that much credit for developing either of them into the receivers they would turn out to be

The only real thing he did was recruit them and even then he got caught cheating later and they were both top instate guys so of course he was going to offer them

So he signed them? And they played in his offense a year? You crediting Matt Luke with their development? Come on man. I hate Hugh too but his offenses always produced numbers and he’s had his share of play makers

Heard from Florida guy on the radio Auburn and Florida have out NIL’d Bama for Favour Edwin and he will go with the better deal.

Why on Earth is Florida throwing a bunch of money around for recruits who are 100% portaling out after Napier is fired during or after next season?

Well if you’re not coaching them I’m not sure how you can credit someone for developing them.

Edwin has a high ceiling but going to Florida would be dumb. Thrown into the fire and then that whole staff is fired next year. And he’s portaling out anyway.

Lots of teams produce numbers. Not all of them produce talent. Look at all those Oregon teams under Chip Kelly. I don’t think any of those QBs or skill guys became NFL stars

You’re really trying to give him credit for DK who had a whopping 2 catches

He signed them and coached them for a year. They lived off the hype all the way to the draft. Nobody on earth remembers Ole Miss from the Matt Luke years. I’m talking strictly selling point to 17-18 year old kids. Hugh can say, look at AJ Brown and DK. I recruited those guys and got them drafted from Ole Miss and these kids are gonna eat that up

Favor should be self aware enough to know that he needs a couple years development. UF wouldn’t be good for him, but if he land many of these other guys and lose out on him… so be it

Kids fall for dumb shite all the time. Doesn’t make your theory correct.

No they didn’t. Brown put up great offensive numbers after Hugh left. DK didn’t but he got drafted based of his record breaking combine numbers

You might have a point here but I still feel playing time and to a much larger extent NIL matters way more

This is laughable. If you actually look at their stats under his "tutelage," nobody in their right mind would say this is a valid argument

Cry more. I can’t stand Hugh as much as the next guy but to watch the amount of Bama fans that are butt hurt about Thompson when he was trolling us the whole time is insane. Perry bought what Hugh was selling hook, line and sinker. To act like he had zero to sell is laughable.

Exactly. This is why letting teams recruit with NIL is so fricking stupid. People have just become obsessed with this concept that the schools exploit the work of the players and take it to the logical conclusion that we need to take off any restrictions at all in terms of the players being paid. I mean plenty of states are now letting fricking high school kids do it. But in reality you simply cannot trust teenage boys to make sound financial decisions. They are all financially illiterate and prone to focusing exclusively on short term gain regardless of the long term outlook. But we're going to solve this problem by letting them transfer as many times as they want? It's fricking insane. These are not grown men and they should not be treated like grown men. They are still kids and need some kind of appropriate guidance as they transition into being real adults.

This isn't even a clever troll job. Please go back to the Auburn board, you're derailing the thread

He’s a great recruiter. I don’t think anyone is debating that. But his worth as an offensive innovator and talent developer is significantly overstated.
