The actual quote was from the kid who said

"And if you ain't rocking with us, and you say you're a dawg, you claim you're a dawg, why are you not coming to Colorado? Why are you not helping someone who looks like you?"

In regard to Overton, he is not from Alabama. He played his HS ball in Atlanta metro. His dad had been an associate AD at Alabama years ago and is now the AD at Kennesaw State. Odd coincidence, my son-in-law worked for his dad at Kennesaw.

Well that changes everything. Nothing racist about that

No doubt that was pitched to him word for word by Deion.

If you're a big time player and you fall into that trap then that's all I need to know. Kid isn't made for Saban and Bama.

He knew what he was doing calling Bama his leader multiple times(always a red flag btw). He knew what he was doing not including Colorado in his top schools. This was all a show created by Deion.

That's why I don't like Sanders as a coach. He seems like a good guy honestly. I've always liked him...but when it comes to being a college football coach I'm not a fan. It's all about Deion. It's always all about Deion. What about Colorado? What about the players?

In defense of Deion, it was a good plan because it worked. Not a huge fan of the way he promotes himself and his kids above everyone else in his organization, though.

People are falling for some good hearted trolling on Twitter. Thompson isn’t flipping. There’s zero substance to that. Just some bama fans that switched their profile names to make it look like legit sources.

Willie Taggart tried the same approach at FSU. He failed and look at them now using a different approach. Sanders will be gone one way or another when his kids leave next year. He was a fantastic player, but most good athletes make terrible coaches.

Quincey Wiggins and Princely Umanmielen in the portal. I remember being in on Wiggins.

I would take Sage Ryan if he wanted to transfer and move him back to his natural position (Safety). He's not a top CB, though, obviously.

, if I remember correctly, we passed on him due to laziness. Never could have committed.

His publicly stated pitch is that black kids should come play for him because he is a black coach. When he was at JSU, he said black athletes should play at a HBCU.

10 or 15 years ago AU was roasted, IMO, rightly so, for their pitch to “over-the-mountain” Bham white kids of come to AU, where “we have more people who look like you”. At that time, may still be true, idk, AU had the whitest student population in the SEC. This appeal was to students in general, not just sports or football.

The reason I said that is that the kid himself, Seaton, was quoted as saying that. He didn’t mention Deon’s charisma. Of course, it could have been a partial quote or just the most prominent thought on his mind at that moment.

I say theses things having respected Deon in the past because despite his public bluster, his teammates always liked him because “off camera” he was quiet and a hard worker. Then at some point he was “born again” through faith in Jesus Christ - it seemed genuine, and hopefully is, despite what he’s now doing.

Yes, it was a partial quote as Ystar confirmed and as you said likely the most prominent thing on his mind. And he likely wouldn't mention Deion's charisma, most recruits don't say that even though most kids go to schools cause they like the coach. Saban is charismatic but I don't think you ever hear a recruit mention it. We all know Sanders is a bigger than life persona that draws people in, and his personality is compelling to percentage of recruits including Seaton.
