Well that is the truth. Those who have been here long enough know I have complained about Golding for years and have complained about BOB since last season.
They have been the issue
Golding could be overcome by himself with a genius at OC but BOB? That guy is even worse than Golding. Combining them was our downfall.

Exactly, it is the combination that is lethal. With Sark as OC Golding's D looked okay at times and lots of posters here defended PG vehemently.
Mostly though in Saban's era (prior to Sark and Kiff), it's been the other way around: average offensive coordinators were compensated by our traditional big-and/or-fast-mean-intimidating-in-your-face defenses. Boy I miss those days...

Because Pete’s defense was ok in 2020. And they got a lot better as the season went on. Don’t really know what sark has to do with that. It’s not like he slowed it down and helped the defense. Pete deserves a shite load of criticism, but 2020 isn’t one of those reasons

2020 and 2021 defenses got better at the back half of the season and they made big plays down the stretch. That's why people defended him. 2022 they started off pretty good, but got worse as the year went on, and couldn't make a game-changing play to save their lives. Not to mention the weird-arse formations and calls that led to failure.

Golding has not always been terrible, but enough is enough. His defenses consistently fall short of the Alabama Standard (by a lot).
So, bring Jimmy Lake out of the mothballs, or bring in Schumann or bring my personal fave Pruitt back. Just please, please Coach Saban, end this defensive misery!
