They don’t get the players. The players are in the South. That’s not changing. Additionally, Every year that passes, more upper middle class midwesterners move south. Their kids go to SEC schools.

It may be a moot point bc college football is a tip toe away from semipro now. And when that happens it’s dead. There are no economically vibrant AAA sports.

This national brand stuff is nonsense. Michigan football dies without the support of the people in Michigan. Michigan is a thing because the people in Michigan have pride in their state school. And that goes for every major football program.

The exception might be ND because of the Jesuit loyalty of Catholics around the country. And maybe Duke basketball but the dollars there are much more insignificant.

Pro sports are a totally different animal.
