Those are fine programs but not elite. Of that bunch, Tennessee is the closest. LSU has the titles but they're too inconsistent.

Ummm, OP listed Nebraska, Michigan, and USC right?

Can you share the last time any of those were relevant or consistent.

Hahaha.

Since the creation of the BCS, LSU has 3 championships. Tennessee and all 5 of the "blue bloods" you mention in your OP combine for 4.

Winning 3 titles with the 3 different coaches in a row over the course of 16 years is inconsistent eh?
