No one is at full health at the end of the year but not having 7 starters is far unhealthier than most.

The Bama backups didn't do what the starters did in the SECCG but that's a different topic than missing your best players. I don't know what you mean about stepping up with those players on the list since most were starters anyway. Starters don't have to step up. And, it's easier to step up when you aren't going against the best players on the other team. .

No, in fact they weren't starters. None of them was on UGA's week 1 starting lineup. All of them had to play due to injuries but were able to step up... and many never gave back their starting spot (like Stetson Bennett never giving JT Daniels back his starting spot.

The reason you can't even recognize that they weren't all backups to start the season is that they stepped up to the level you consider them starters.

Week 1 starters:

QB - JT Daniels (got injured, not playing at end of year), replaced by #3 on Depth chart.

WR1 - Kearis Jackson (got injured and played limited rest of year, replaced by #3 Ladd McConkey due to #2 Arian Smith getting injured as well)

WR2 - Marcus Rosemy Jacksaint... replacement for George Pickens (got injured, replaced by #3 AD Mitchell who never let go of position... #2 Dominick Blaylock was injured as well)

TE - Darnell Washington (got injured early, Brock Bowers took spot and never gave it back)

OG - Tate Ratledge. (got injured early. Missed rest of season. Replaced by Warren Ericson.

OT - Jamaree Salyer (got injured for 2-3 games, played injured for 2-3 more... Broderick Jones filled in and played so well that in NC game Salyer moved to guard to let Jones on the field)

LB - Adam Anderson (got suspended. Robert Beal stepped in and led UGA in sacks)

Star - Tykee Smith (former all american. Injured all but 2 games for the year, replaced successfully by Latavius Brini... then when he got hurt William Poole)

UGA's backups shined to the point you didn't see them as backups. But they were only playing their roles due to injury... they just performed awesomely when given the chance.

JT Daniels - Georgia actually benefitted by this. That's why Daniels transferred when Bennett announced he was coming back.

The only receiver that wasn't able to play in the NC game was a backup so those who started were the starters.

Washington played and was healthy for the NC game. Bowers was the starter for the NC game because he is the better player.

The only OL not available for the NC game was the OG.

Anderson wasn't on the Georgia team in Jan. This is about injuries, not a player not playing by choice.

Smith was a starter who was injured and couldn't play, like the OG. Those were legit losses.
