Yet the South has most of the biggest markets for college football viewership. How big a city is is irrelevant if those people don’t watch
Birmingham has been the biggest market for like 15 years

That's BS. None of those people own a waterbed up there. Never seen one up there.
Half of my relatives own a waterbed and that includes some that live in mobile homes (double wides only). I'll call bullshite again. They ain't got that much money up there.
