Texas last played Vandy in 1928.

Was too scared to play them anymore so started playing the Sooners at the State Fair. Sooners should love the Dores for that alone.

We are tied with Vandy currently, but have gone 15-3 against them since 1951. They racked up a lot of wins back when they were a powerhouse in the early years of the sport.

Sooners are close

Vandy lost in Norman by just 2 points in 1977
Vandy played to a tie in Norman in 1933

Since WW II the series has favored Auburn.

Vandy has won 2 of the last 3 against Auburn.

An old Ag here with a lot of friends my age who ABSOLUTELY agree with you.

Chalk it up to the non-Aggie graduate hired hand Branch Covidians in our administration making that decision. Kind of takes the shine off of that Twelth Man image. Probably also mattered what the remaining players and their mamas and daddies felt about XiFauci / WuFlu too. I think our players mostly kowtowed to getting vaxxed up so that would be a proxy for that.
