If you are old enough to remember Kentucky had a pro Basketball team in the ABA. The ABA WAS Absorbed into the NBA but Kentucky was left out because it was to small of an market eventhough it had the highest average attendance.

Made it clear in the original post that Kentucky and South Carolina are cool and not to be messed with.
